CSE 1, I Year
In the bustling corridors of the computer science department, two first-year students made their way to the campus lab for their afternoon session. The students chatted excitedly, clutching their smartphones in hand. As they settled into their workstations, Suddenly, one of them realized they had forgotten to leave their phone outside the lab. Anxious not to disturb the class, he whispered to the other that he was going to quickly step out to leave their phones in his bag in the hallway. With a swift nod, his friend continued his tasks while the other slipped out of the lab.
Hurrying down the corridor, he spotted an open bag that seemed familiar and quickly slid their phones inside, thinking it belonged to his friend. Satisfied with his deed, he swiftly made his way back to the lab, unaware of the mix-up he had just created.
The lab hour passed quickly, and as the clock struck 3:50 p.m. , signaling the end of the session, the two friends gathered their belongings. It was then that one of them reached into his bag, only to realize their phones were missing. Panic fluttered inside him as he frantically searched, but the devices were nowhere to be found.
Gathering their courage, they approached FYCC ma’am, Dr. M. Chitra, who was known for her calm demeanour and quick problem-solving skills. With a sheepish look, they explained the situation, and FYCC ma’am listened attentively, her brow furrowed in concentration. Realizing the gravity of the situation, FYCC ma’am decided to involve the second-year students, suspecting that the misplaced phone might be in one of their bags. With the lab being close to the Computer Science Engineering (CSE) department, FYCC ma’am swiftly contacted the senior students for assistance.
She sought the help of Akshaya, a student from II CSE 1. With a sense of responsibility, Akshaya immediately passed the information to all three sections, and contacted Pranav Kumar of CSE 2, asking him to see if anyone in his class had the phone, and urging their classmates to help track down the missing phone and unravel the mystery of the misplaced phones.
Further, Pranav texted the class group. The news spread like wildfire throughout the department, and soon, a collaborative effort began among the students to locate the phone and solve the puzzle before the day ended.
Time passed, but the students remained steadfast in their search. Finally, after meticulous investigation, a breakthrough came when a second-year student, Lokesh Sundar, discovered the phone tucked away in his bag, a mix of relief and amusement washing over them.
At this point, Pranav requested Akshaya to examine it and sent Akshaya the images of the two phones. She verified it with FYCC ma’am after showing her the images. Following that, Lokesh and Karthik returned to the campus and handed back the phones to their juniors near the Sai Baba temple.
The two first-year students felt relieved and were apologetic for the confusion they had caused. FYCC ma’am commended the second-year students for their teamwork and problem-solving skills, emphasizing the importance of communication and cooperation in resolving such situations. With the phones safely returned to their rightful owners, the first-year students learnt a valuable lesson in attentiveness and responsibility. The incident served as a reminder of the power of collaboration and the strength of unity within the campus.
In the end, the incident brought the two groups of students closer together. They realized that despite being at different stages in their academic journey, they were all part of the same community, and helping each other out was what made that community strong. The campus was enveloped in a sense of camaraderie and accomplishment, with the students sharing a newfound bond forged through adversity and teamwork. In the halls of the campus, the tale of the misplaced phone became a legendary reminder of the importance of trust, communication, and the unwavering spirit of togetherness that defined their tech-savvy world.
