Prithivi’s roller skating journey began when he decided to melt off. Mesmerized by the fluid movements and the freedom on wheels, he got a crush on the sport and ended up practicing by paying more visits to the rink. Recognizing this burgeoning interest, his parents enrolled him in the Raging Bulls Club.
As Prithivi progressed, training became more intensive and structured. Early lessons focused on basic techniques, from balance and control to simple spins and jumps. Under the guidance of his coaches Master Rajkumar and Master Sundar, he honed his skills with tireless practice, often spending hours perfecting each move. With this level of talent and skillset, Prithivi moved to the Greater Chennai Roller Skating Club with his main coach Master Sundar as his trainer.
Prithivi’s innate agility and balance were complemented by a strong work ethic and a keen desire to learn. By eleven, he had advanced to compete in local contests, earning top spots and impressing judges with a blend of technical skill and artistic expression.
Prithivi’s first taste of competitive success came at the Nationals conducted in Gujarat by RGOI for 2018-19. Despite nerves, he delivered a standout performance, earning second place with a silver medal on the podium and igniting a passion for competition. This initial victory began a competitive career that saw him participating in numerous regional and state events.
Another cherishing moment came at the age of twelve, with a silver medal at the Nationals conducted in Munnar by RGBI for 2019-20. This significant achievement not only boosted his confidence but also garnered attention from the broader roller-skating community.
The path to greatness was not without its challenges. Balancing schoolwork, rigorous training schedules, and the demands of competitive skating required extraordinary dedication and time management. Despite these setbacks, Prithivi’s determination never wavered. He approached recovery from injuries with the same tenacity seen in training, emerging from the ordeal stronger and more focused. This resilience became a defining characteristic, inspiring peers and earning respect from coaches and competitors.
Prithivi had set his sights on National championship glory as he could not participate in International and Asian levels because of the limitations of National Standardized Skates. His recent achievements were tremendous with one Gold and two silver medals in the event conducted by KDRSA along with one silver and one bronze medal in the event conducted by TNRSA for the year 2023-24 which took place in Chennai.
Prithivi had also been a coach for about 6 to 7 months, training all the young talents and guiding them towards their victory. Prithvi’s intense desire is to win a championship in Nationals with a handful of gold medals and he assures that he’ll achieve it with the tremendous support he receives from his Coach, College, Parents, and Mates.
Behind his success is a strong support system. The parents’ unwavering support, both emotional and financial, provides the foundation for pursuing his dream. His coaches and friends had played a crucial role in offering expert guidance, motivation, and the experience necessary to navigate the competitive landscape.
As Prithivi prepares for the upcoming national championships, the focus is not just on winning but also on inspiring others. He believes that roller skating is more than a sport; it’s a form of art and a way to push personal boundaries. This philosophy drives him to continuously improve and to share the joy of skating with others.
