The one thing I always pretended to understand but actually never did

There is one thing I always pretended to understand but actually never did. When we think about life, the first 5 years pass without us even knowing what the world is. In the next 5 years, we slowly enter life, and in the other 5 years that follows, life itself enters into us. Only after that do we learn how to truly live. The same applies to friendships. When we enter college, we can’t decide immediately who will become our friends. We act as if we understand everything—thinking certain people won’t bond with us or that we know ourselves better than anyone—but it’s all just acting. After some time, things don’t happen the way we thought. People start connecting with us naturally. We once believed that only school friends could share the strongest bond and that college would never offer the same connection, but we later realized how wrong we were. Time and the universe connect with us in unexpected ways. Last year, in December 2024, you didn’t even know who your college friends were, but this December, you have become the best of friends. “Last December, they were strangers. This December, they are best friends.” The universe responds to what we think—whether it is good or bad. If you think positively with motivation and courage, good things happen. If you think negatively about depression, stress, or anxiety, you fall into those. The universe doesn’t know the difference; it simply reflects our thoughts. Sometimes things happen, sometimes they don’t.  We often think that if we think negatively, things will magically change someday, but we are wrong. Only with positive thinking and effort do things truly take shape. I used to think I understood the universe, but the truth is, no one can ever fully understand it
