If 2025 Were a Colour, It Would Be Yellow

I IT 2

If I had to choose one colour to describe my 2025, I’d choose yellow without even thinking twice. Yellow has always been my favourite. It’s bright, loud in the happiest way and full of life. And honestly, that’s exactly how this year has been for me: vibrant, warm and full of new beginnings. 2025 has been one of the biggest years of my life. I completed my 12th grade, something I had been working towards with so much hope, stress and excitement. When I finally held that result, it felt like the sun itself burst inside me. All those early mornings, late-night revisions and tiny panic attacks suddenly turned into a golden moment that I’ll never forget. But the real adventure started after that. I took a bold step, I left my own city and came all the way to Chennai to pursue engineering. It was a huge decision, especially for someone who had never imagined living away from home. And yes, I miss my home more than I thought I would. I miss my school, my usual roads and most of all my school friends. But the beautiful thing is that distance didn’t break us. We still talk, call, and laugh, remaining as connected as we were in the good old times. At the same time, Chennai has given me something new. I started trying things I had never tried before. I’m learning to be more confident, more open and more independent. Every day teaches me something, and every moment here feels like a little piece of sunlight pushing me forward. Coming to a new city for studies was scary, but it was also the best decision I made for myself. It showed me that sometimes growth happens only when you step out of your comfort zone.

But the best part?

The first time I walked onto campus I felt that same yellow vibe again bright, hopeful and promising. It’s the kind of feeling that tells you, “Yes, you’re starting something new, and yes, you’re going to shine.”

If there’s something my 2025 has taught me, it’s not to be afraid of new beginnings. Leaving home doesn’t mean leaving love. True friends and family stay close no matter where you go. Try new things. That’s how you discover who you truly are. Confidence grows only when you give yourself the chance to grow. Your best decisions might be the ones that push you the most. Yellow, for me is no longer just a colour, it’s a symbol of optimism, courage, change, and joy.
