I IT 2
This year gifted me a memory I will never forget, the moment I left my home city at eighteen to start my college life in a completely new place. I had always dreamed of stepping outside my comfort zone and exploring a world that felt bigger than the one I grew up in. I imagined new routines, new friendships, and a life built on my own choices. Yet, I never truly realized how emotional that first step would be until the day it happened. When I boarded the train, I thought I was fully prepared. But watching the familiar scenes fade away brought an unexpected wave of nostalgia and quiet pride. It felt like I was closing one beautiful chapter and stepping into another. With every passing station, I felt myself moving closer not only to a new city, but to a new version of myself. It was a comforting, bittersweet transition, one that made me understand how deeply we grow when we let life move us forward.
Reaching my hostel only strengthened that feeling. My room, though simple, felt welcoming from the very first moment. It became a safe haven where I could think, dream, laugh, and gain a deeper understanding of myself. It was the first space that truly belonged to me. And then came the friends who made the unfamiliar city feel like home. Their warmth, support, and companionship made even the hardest days easier. Looking back, I believe every student or working person moving away from home should welcome the change with happiness. Leaving home isn’t losing comfort; it’s gaining experiences that shape you forever.
